    Job Requirements Blueprint reading skills and knowledge of sheet metal fabrication required along with good analytical and verbal communication skills. PC skills a must.

    Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training a plus.

    FT PRECISION MACHINING INSTRUCTOR

    RESPONSIBILITIES: SMCC is seeking a full-time faculty in precision machining to teach introductory and advanced CNC machining classes. The successful candidate for this position will be experienced in CNC programming and operation as well as have a solid background in manual machining. Experience in designing and implementing machine tool curriculum based on NIMS standards and teaching experience are a plus. Responsibilities include teaching five courses, or the equivalent, per semester, along with advising students in the academic programs, developing and modifying curricula, participating in department college committees and activities particularly those that will enhance the artistic life of the college, and other professional duties related to the position. Appointments begin at the Instructor level.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Hold or be enrolled in an Associate degree in machine tool technology or commitment to obtaining one
  • Possess NIMS Certifications
  • Three- five years experience working in precision machining
  • Teaching experience


  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Baccalaureate degree with a technical/education focus
  • Experience in CNC training, operation as well as manual and CAD/CAM programming
  • Community college teaching experience
